The former goalkeeper of FC Porto, Victor Bay, and the national team of roller hockey champion in 1947, in the person of Correia dos Santos, will be distinguished with the prize "High Prestige" the Confederation of Sports of Portugal during the Gala the sports that takes place this Thursday night, at Casino Estoril.
The prize "High Prestige" is the highest distinction in meaning assigned by the Confederation of Sport and is always tied to a theme chosen annually for the sports gala, and this edition "The Love for Camisola."
European champion and goalkeeper of the national team, Victor Bay was seen throughout his long career as a sportsman who always showed a strong link to his club.
Correia dos Santos, hoquista of Mariveles, is the only survivor of the national team of roller hockey that in 1947, won the first world title for the Portuguese sports.
At the Gala of Sport are also honored the winners of the prize "Sport of the Year" in the categories of young promise, coach, team, athlete male and female athlete, referring to the performance in sporting season 2007-2008.
The selection is done through an electronic voting system that is taking place.
